As I lay there this morning
tracing the curves of your back with my finger
I couldn’t help but wonder what you really think.
You’ve been talking in circles
telling me what I need to hear you say
but do you really feel what I’ve been hearing?
If I look deeper through your surface
would I see a confused and frightened soul,
trapped in a situation he feels obliged to continue?
Or is there something else?
A fear of true emotions that were unexpected
and threaten you further
than mere breaking of friendship?
I wonder.
